Tree Removal Near Storey Avenue Beginning Thursday, August 26
Beginning
Thursday, August 26 through the week of Monday, August 30, construction crews will remove the first row of trees adjacent to southbound Highway 101/Doyle Drive, near Storey Avenue. Work will include tree removal, stump grinding, clearing and grading, and is expected to occur Monday-Friday, from 7am – 5pm. Additional fencing will be installed for visual screening and safety. Primary access to the tree removal and equipment staging areas will occur from the highway.
Removal of these trees allows for construction of the new hook ramp from northbound Highway 101/Doyle Drive to southbound Highway 1/Park Presidio Boulevard. The trees were originally scheduled for removal last summer, but this was postponed by construction management, in coordination with the Presidio Trust, in order to maintain the screening for residents as long as possible. The delay also allowed the removal equipment to be staged on the old highway instead of near the houses.

Due to careful planning and off-peak lane closures, construction crews have been able to avoid the majority of previously planned night work and limit construction impacts to nearby residents.
There are still certain activities that may occur during nighttime hours in the coming weeks. Upcoming night work includes:
Grading & Paving Adjacent to Northbound Highway 101 through Mid-JulyThe night work planned from June 14 through June 28 did not occur, as crews were able to conduct the work between 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

As construction progresses, many activities must occur outside of regular working hours. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, and Saturday from 9 am to 6 pm.

- there is continuous work that cannot be stopped, such as a concrete pour
- there is critical path work that would have significant schedule implications
